Disney Pixar Inspired Fashion

You may have taken some fashion inspiration from the Disney princesses, but you've probably never considered turning to Pixar to update your wardrobe. Here are some ideas to jazz up your outfit in Pixar-style.

Finding Nemo

Get some inspiration from the sea and your favorite ocean friends. A koi fish dress is the perfect platform for a summer ensemble. Deck it out with teal, roped thongs and a turtle necklace (hey, Squirt!). An ivory shirt printed with orange fish is a subtle tribute to Nemo: pair it with some rust-orange shorts and some matching nail polish. Rust-orange is a great summer color and the perfect contrast to a healthy tan. A bikini in this color is perfect for your trip to the beach. Pack your gear in an aqua tote and strap on some aqua sandals and you'll be well on your way to "finding Nemo". There are plenty of accessory options inspired by the ocean, including a charm bracelet with ocean charms and an octopus ring. An aqua scarf and eye shadow adds a touch of ocean to any outfit, and almost every nail polish collection includes sea-inspired colors. Don't forget: just keep swimming!

Monster's Inc.

Love Monster's Inc. but don't want to actually look like a monster? Copy Boo's look with a pale pink shirt and lavender shorts. A pair of Ked's is every kids comfy go-to for a play-date; make them grown up with chic colors. Over-sized sunglasses in the color of Boo's shirt are playful and fun, and every girl loves to play dress up so some grab some colorful bangles or flowery hair clips.

More of a fan of Mike Wazowski? A fun 80s-inspired neon green shirt will have you thinking of Mike all day. Want a less in-your-face option? Some lime green pumps are a small accent, and the snake skin effect will also leave you with thoughts of Randall. Finish the look with some fun, colorful hair ties or green eye shadow.

If Sully is more your speed, a lace dress in jade is a great option. Wear purple pumps for a true tribute and an unexpected contrast. A purple headband will balance out the outfit. And you can always carry a little bit of Monster's with you: paint your nails in a variety of monster-inspired colors!

Toy Story

Woody is an easy pick for fashion inspiration. A plaid shirt and some rugged jeans tucked into a pair of worn leather boots is a great weekend outfit. It's comfortable and versatile. Wear it around the house to do some work or head out for a bite to eat. Don't top it off with a stetson (unless you're headed to a costume party); instead take a page from Woody and always have your trusty hat on hand. Hats have become so under-appreciated, but they're making a comeback. Grab a fedora to cover up a bad hair day. For a touch of western, you can always wear a bandanna scarf as an accent or a snake ring to pay tribute to Woody's favorite saying.

For Buzz, I took inspiration from the stars. Wear a star covered top or a necklace dripping with stars, then top it all off with some sparkly nail polish. You'll be ready for the space age. To infinity and beyond!

Cars

Each car has their own personality and they're not afraid to show it. Their individuality is what makes them (and you) shine. Have you ever noticed how no two cars look the same? It's like your favorite color, your favorite go-to style, and your favorite pair of shoes. Every one has their own preferences. So, yes, go ahead: take some inspiration from your favorite Disney/Pixar films, but let your individuality be the starting point for every outfit! Lightning McQueen has tons of pizzazz. He's always (or always wants to be) the star! In a stunning red number with some va-va-va-voom pumps, you'll certainly be the center of attention. Sally is a little more understated, which might just draw more looks for her natural beauty. A blue dress with some ballet flats and pearls is a classic go-to look.

Fillmore is a stereotypical hippie and everything about him pays homage to the 1960s and 70s. A colorful, aqua dress with large blooms is a modern hippie alternative: don't forget the big sunglasses. You'll need them for Woodstock. Mater is a little grungy and isn't embarrassed by his backwoods roots. He needs a look that will allow him to get down and dirty in comfort. A pair of distressed jeans with a slouchy sweater, complete in Mater colors, is the perfect go-to ensemble. Luigi is a classic car in a sunny yellow, which makes a sundress

What an interesting concept -- and not just for Halloween. Perhaps a Pixar party? Voting this Up and Interesting.
